Duffey Lake, BC

Established as a provincial park in 1993, this park is centered around the picturesque Duffey Lake and overshadowed by Mt. Rohr.

It is a popular spot for canoeing, kayaking and wildlife viewing. Use caution, as the wind can be strong at times while on the lake. The park offers a rough gravel boat launch.

Located along Duffey Lake Road (Highway 99) about 35km east of Pemberton, nearly midway to Lillooet. It is about a three hour drive from Vancouver. The Duffey Lake Road is a scenic highway that forms part of an automobile tour route called the Coast Mountain Circle Tour.

The Duffey Lake and Cayoosh Creek Valley area was historically used as a travel route between the Lillooet First Nations on Lillooet Lake and the Stl’alt’imx First Nation on the Fraser River. The area was important for hunting, trapping and gathering.

The main conservation role of Duffey Lake Park is to protect a representative portion of the Leeward Pacific Ranges ecosection and to protect important wildlife habitats, particularly for goats and bears. The Duffey Lake area contains some of the flora, fauna, landforms and waters which are characteristic of the region, and illustrates transitional vegetation between coastal and interior climates.

Mountain goat, grizzly bear, deer, black bear, osprey and great blue heron can all be found in the park.

Visiting Downtown Merrit – snacks and souvenirs

Two hours drive and stop from Merrit to Spences Bridge along the beautiful Nicola Valley

Dinner at Spences Bridge and a quick drive to Murray Creek Falls

One and a half-hour drive from Spences Bridge to Boston Bar through scenic Thompson River Canyon, and Fraser Canyon.

Camping at North Bend RV Campground – Campfire and marshmallows

Day 2

Breakfast at North Bend RV Campground

An hour drive through Nahatlatch Canyon to Nahatlatch Provincial Park and Protected Area

Exploring the 3 lakes Frances, Hanna and Nahatlach lake

Lunch at Nahatlatch Lake Sunnyside Campground

Spending the afternoon on the lake, boating, swimming, paddle boarding, or laying out on the inflatable island, or riding the bicycles  (all outdoor equipment provided)

BBQ dinner at the campground

30 min drive to fantastic Grizzly Falls

One hour drive return to the North Bend RV Campground

Camping at North Bend RV Campground – Campfire and marshmallows

Day 3

Breakfast at North Bend RV Campground or in Boston Bar

40 min drive to Lytton through the Fraser Canyon

Quick stop in Lytton

Lunch at Duffey Lake Provincial Park

45 min drive to Strawberry Point Recreational Are on Lillooet Lake

Two hours break at the lake.

30 min drive to Pemberton

Visiting Pemberton and Nairn Falls

30 min drive to Whistler

Dinner in Whistler and quick visit off the 2010 Olympic Centre in Whistler

Three hours drive home with stops at Brandywine Falls, Squamish and Porteau Cove

You’ll be back just in time to go to bed.

Accommodation provided in a camper trailer – sleeps 4

You can use the tent as well if you need more room.

You need to pack your lunch, drinks and snacks unless you want to eat out along the way.

BBQ dinners are on the house. Whistler dinner is at the restaurant of your choice.

Luggage – One backpack per person to pack your change of clothes. One large cooler per trip where we pack all the food and drinks. At the campsite, a fridge is available as well.

You can ride in my SUV or ride on your own car and have more space for luggage.

$250 / adult  $150 / child when in the company of an adult maximum 2 adults and 3 children per party

Duffey Lake Provincial Park is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada, located at the lake of the same name, which lies along BC Highway 99 just east of the summit of Cayoosh Pass. The lake's inflow and outflow are Cayoosh Creek. The park's highest point is Mount Rohr at the westernmost boundary.
